Pre-Audition Dance Workshop

Saturday, June 13, 1:00pm-2:00pm, 2:15pm-3:15pm

Come experience supercalifragilistic fun with Deerfield Family Theater's Mary Poppins FREE dance workshop. Choreographer Julie Salk will be teaching segments from both musical theater and tap numbers for DFT's November production. Please wear dance attire, and bring tap shoes if you would like to learn the tap sequence. Sign up for one of our four workshop sessions, or for more than one if you'd like. Workshops are limited to 4th grade through adult.

Julie Salk, choreographer, has been involved in education for over 30 years, including dance education, visual and performing arts and musical theater productions. Prior to a career in education, she was a professional dancer and choreographer working throughout Chicago and the Midwest. Julie was an Artist in Education residency artist for the Illinois Arts Council, movement specialist at Children's Memorial Hospital, and an adjunct professor at Illinois State University, and taught in the public schools for over 25 years.

Audition Information

August 19-23, 2015

Wednesday, August 19, beginning at 6:30pm
Thursday, August 20, beginning at 6:30pm
Saturday, August 22, beginning at 9:30am

Callbacks: Sunday, August 23

Auditions are open to adults, high school students, and students in grades 4-8. There is no residency requirement for adults and high school students. However, students in grades 4-8 must reside within Deerfield Park District boundaries or attend school in Deerfield.
